The Ravers team played the first half of this match in slow motion and deserved to go into the break 1-0 down.

The Bottesford goal was a lucky one – the ball slipped through Alex’s fingers and dribbled over the line – but while some individuals tried hard, there was no fire, no passing and very little football from the Ravers as a team.

It was suggested that this was because we started with a different line-up this week. But that’s no excuse. The team should be able to pass to each other and play like they really want to win regardless of who is on the pitch.

After a little discussion at half time we reverted to the usual line up: Macey, Leah and Jodie in the middle, Chloe up front and Lauren and Misha in defence.

The second half was much better. Lots of shots, lots of ‘hustle’ and we really should have gone on to win the game after Macey brought us level.

Overall it was a little disappointing that we didn’t play with more confidence and disappointing that we didn’t win a game that was there to be won.

But there was still some good stuff from the Ravers - eventually – and hopefully we will start our next match as we finished this one. On top.
