The girls started the new season in style on Sunday.
Our defence was solid and Danielle – who was playing her first game as the team’s goalkeeper – had a very quiet morning. But she handled the ball confidently and had an good start to her new ‘career’ between the sticks.
Macey and Leah enjoyed themselves in midfield, going on several strong runs and passing the ball around nicely. Macey nearly scored several times and Leah scored three excellent goals.
Up front, Chloe found her voice! She encouraged her team-mates throughout the game, scored a good goal, had a goal disallowed and took several great corners.
Lucy (who has only just started with us) and Olivia (who hasn’t played since last season) also played well.
Overall, it was a very good team performance and the girls thoroughly deserved their win.
