Before today’s match the Ravers received the Jack Start trophy from the Broughton Ex-Service Association for their outstanding performance last season when they won the league and cup without losing a single game.
In the game that followed, the Ravers played well against a new Park Tigers team.
Chloe opened the scoring after one minute and added a second just two minutes later. Alex scored the Raver’s third goal from a well worked corner in the thirteenth minute and Chloe completed a fine first half hat-trick ten minutes before the break.
In the second half I was pleased to see the Ravers keeping the pressure up. They passed the ball around well and could have scored a hat full of goals if it were not for the Park Tiger’s ‘keeper who kept out several good shots.
But she couldn’t keep the Ravers out forever. Chloe soon scored her fifth goal, Leah weighed in with a nice close range tap in and Misha completed the scoring for the home side with her first goal for the Ravers.
Overall, a good performance that will have to be repeated next week if we are to get a result against Burton Belles.
