The girls scored their 35th, 36th, 37th, 38th and 39th goal of the season at Fairfield Road school today.
And they did it with style.
The whole team played with flair and confidence. I was pleased to see players running off the ball, passes to both sides of the pitch, wide players crossing the ball into the box, players waiting in the right places for the crosses to arrive and some excellent defending.
There was even a back heel in the first half (well done Leah!), players calling for the ball and I saw players passing the ball back when they couldn’t go any further forward. But the most pleasing aspect of the performance for me was to see the girls playing with such confidence in their own ability. They’re starting to realise that they are quite a talented bunch.
For the record, Solar scored first but we went ahead before half time thanks to goals from Jodie and Chloe.
In the second half Hot Shot Chloe added two more to notch up yet another hat-trick and Macey popped one in from close range.
You played some very good football today girls. It was a pleasure to watch.
