The weather was a bit rough at Marshalls today but the Ravers were in top form.
Greenbank are a tough, skillful team so winning the Chairman’s Invitation Trophy was never going to be easy. But the Ravers turned up the heat on the team from Lincoln and put on a display of confident, attractive and aggressive football.
A feature of the match was the Ravers desire to win loose balls and there was a lot of tough, but fair, tackles. Chloe, Misha, Louise, Alex, Katie, Lauren, Macey and Hollie fought like tigers!
Jodie twinkled along the left wing and made three great assists (smile Jodie…please!) to help Chloe notch yet another hat-trick and it was nice to see Katie hit the back of the net twice.
Special mention goes to Hollie who had a great game in defence and scored a very good goal too!
Overall, it was a fitting end to what has been another brilliant season for the Ravers. I’m very proud of them all.
We have played 23 matches, won 19 drawn 2 and lost 2. Goals scored 107, conceded 17. A GD of +90.
More importantly, the girls have had a lot of fun and they’re definitely looking forward to next season and winning their fourth consecutive league title :)
