When the ECFA announced the players that have been selected to represent the Association during the 2009 / 10 season it included seven players from Gateshead College.
Four of the players named are also members of Newcastle United Women’s Football Club; they are Sarah Eadon (Defence), Jane Latif (Midfield), Steph Eadon (Midfield) and Beth Gardener (Forward).
The girls selected will now go onto play fixtures against Australia Schools and Welsh colleges before embarking on a short tour towards the end of the season.
Mel Reay, Head Coach at NUWFC said “it’s a fantastic opportunity for the girls to experience football at an international level. They will also experience traveling to different countries and be part of a squad made up with the best college players across the country”
