Both teams were determined to get some match practice after the festive period and to make sure the game went ahead City arranged to play on one of their training grounds on their 3G pitch to beat the big freeze.
The Bees took an early lead through Zoe Lance but Courtney Sweetman-Kirk replied for the Foxes. The score remained the same until the interval.
City created the better chances in the second period with further goals coming from Natasha Meade, Kirsty Robson and Maz Gauntlett.
Both teams agreed the effort was worthwhile with the FA Cup games coming up next Sunday for both clubs.
