Hammers on a roll

With Manager/ coach Dave Maslen away on a FA coaching course, stand in coach Luke Berry was over the moon with the performance of the West Ham United Ladies Under 10s on Sunday where Isobel Mills was the star of the day with two good goals. West Ham really battled hard against a strong Snaresbrook side with all girls getting their tackles and headers in. With Grace Hill’s hard work up front paying off as she created several chances and was unlucky not to score herself. Maddie O’Connor and Imogen Bennett worked hard attacking the Snarsebrook defence as well as defending too, and the back line were superb with Tess O’Connor and Olivia Smith winnning everything and cuttting Snaresbrook down to a few chances which Sindi Kanto in goal dealt with with her usual assurancet. The inotroduction of substitutes didn’t change the patten of the game as Rhianne Holmes slotted in well at right back and Morgan Ferguson played excellently up front and it was from her non stop work rate and chasing down that Isobel Mills was able to grab her second goal as Morgans chasing down got the corner that led to the goal. Carson Barry also showed some nice touches in the closing part of the game to ensure the Hammers kept possession and saw the game out.
“It was nice taking the under 10s for a game and you can tell that some of these players are going to have a great future in football. I gave the girls three instructions which was attack them quickly, loads of workrate and don’t let the ball bounce and they did everyone of the instructions. I could tell that the girls worked hard as they were all very quiet at the end of the game. I couldn’t really pick a player of the match as every girls done a great job for the win, if I had to say one girl I think it would have to be Isobel Mills as her role in center of midfield is a vital one and she played it brilliant and scored two well deserved goals. I would like to thank the parents who were great today and gave the girls great support and made me very welcome taking the girls for the day.” Luke Berry said after the game.
