City finished their league campaign with a thrilling match against their midland rivals at Oadby Town FC.
The Foxes opened their account in the 11th minute when Kirsty Linnett rounded off a slick move by Katie McLoughlin and Natasha Meade. At the other end Villa’s Kelly Saggs brought a fine save out of the Foxes keeper, Leanne Hall.
The second period was still fast and furious, Emma Follis went close for the visitors and Meade did likewise for the home side, but on 72 minutes Kim Farrow scored a well executed goal for Villa to bring them level.
Both sides went for a winner and Meade had a goal chalked off in controversial fashion in the dying seconds for City.
