LEYTON IN RACE TO COMPLETE PAPERWORK

August 24, 2010

24 AUG 2010 – LEYTON FC LADIES face a race against the clock to complete the paperwork on its 2010/11 signings and finalise its roster for the start of the season.

A club spokesman said: “We’ve almost got a full house and the player potential is astounding, but the forms have been a nightmare. We’ve most of the squad registered but documents outstanding on others – we need those in now to put out our best possible side for the season start.”

Insiders say, more than half-a-dozen players could be sidelined for the September 5 season openner at home to Hampstead, due to administrative shenanighans and a bit ooming and aahing.

Confimred returnees, Barton, Cheung, Graham, Harman, Garlick, Suffren, English and Pawley, will be bolstered by newbies Ashley Reeder, Hannalot van Bruggen, Morag Mitchell-Carvaloh, Alina Chauhan, Dani Picton, Frah Saeed and Alba Dalmonego. Still Leyton management are eager to cross the tees and dot the i’s on Natasha Lavery, Rachel Daltrey, Nadia O’Garro, Kylie Worster, Frances Duffy, Lizzie Tucker and Amy Nicholson whose registration is alomst but not quite complete.

“It’s great that we’ve so many talented players coming across to LEYTON, but it will mean nothing unless the paperwork is submitted on time. We’ve Jenny Guest out injured until October, so there are no issues there, but with further admin issues over two other returnees we may be forced to go with whatever we have!”

Sources close to manager Tony Andre say he’s angling for a top-half finish and is confident that a full and complete squad will be in place before the deadline. “Our target has always been a 28-player squad by the end of September – nothing has changed,” Andre said.
