The Ravers team started this match well. After just five minutes Macey converted from a corner and two minutes later we were 2-0 up when Jodie slotted home from close range.
It was one way traffic from then on. Bottesford worked hard to keep us out but Chloe H scored three times in the last five minutes of the first half to take us into the interval 5-0 ahead.
In the second half Chloe J (who has been away for a few weeks) impressed me with her determination and Lauren came up with a couple of surging runs that deserved to finish with a goal.
Macey was very strong in midfield, getting back to help in defence when needed and going on some good solo runs of her own. She must have covered most of the pitch during one of them and she could easily have added to her single goal.
Jodie smashed her in her second goal after thirty minutes and completed her hat trick ten minutes later with an powerful shot that gave the keeper no chance.
With five minutes to go Ami completed the scoring.
- What was good: we clearly have some very skilful players who are not afraid to take on the opposition.
- What we need to work on: finishing (we didn’t take all our chances) and working the ball in and out of wide positions rather than going straight at goal.
Player of the match: Elizabeth. She volunteered to go in goal at the start and was happy to stay in goal in the second half when most other players would have been begging to get out on the pitch.
