Match report: Clee Town v Broughton U10s

Saturday 14th November 2009

Result: 1-0

This was a difficult game against a much improved Clee Town on a very windy Saturday morning in Cleethorpes.

To make matters worse, Lauren and Macey were ill but they kept going and both of them came close to scoring.

Olivia wasn’t available so Leah had to go in goal. She didn’t have a lot to do but did make one excellent diving save late the first half that kept us at 0-0 at the break.

Jodie arrived straight from a boys match in Brigg during half time and soon showed why she is such a valued member of our team, scoring the only goal of the game from close range ten minutes into the second half.

Later on Chloe H got a good shot in only to be denied by a goal line clearance.

Ami, Lauren and Leah stopped the occasional Clee attack, Danielle got stuck in and Elizabeth (who volunteered to go in goal in the second half) hardly touched the ball.

Credit is due to Clee Town who only had six players but worked hard to make this a result we had to grind out the hard way.

Player of the match: Rhiannan
