This was backs to the wall stuff!
Solar started this game at the top of the league with us one point behind so it was always going to be close.
We took just seven players but they all worked their socks off to get us the result we deserved.
Chloe Hopkinson scored the only goal of the game following some excellent passing football. Then we had to hang on. The Solar team has some quick players up front and caused us a few problems but our defence stood firm, with Chloe Batty and Ami (who did really well standing in for Lauren) putting in some brilliant last ditch tackles.
Jodie, Chloe and Macey (the birthday girl) came close to scoring for the Ravers in the second half but their keeper managed to keep us out with some great saves.
The highlight of the game for me was the hard work and commitment shown by all the girls but special mention must go to Rhiannan for her tackling and unique sense of positioning :)
Leah didn’t have one real shot to save (a tribute to our defence) but everything she did was just right.
