The girls played well against Bottesford today. They passed the ball around nicely and looked very confident – as well they might, considering their unbeaten run in the league now stretches to 31 games.

But Bottesford proved hard to break down and at half time, despite constant pressure from the Ravers (Macey hit the post and other players came close to scoring) it was still 0-0.

Five minutes into the second half an excellent cross from Chloe forced a mistake from a Bottesford player who diverted the ball into her own goal.

The girls relaxed a bit after that and it wasn’t long before Hot Shot Hopkinson scored the first of her two goals, a good effort from close range.

Jodie added our third when her shot/cross from the left wing ran into the net through a crowd of players and Chloe rounded off the scoring when she volleyed the ball in from a corner.

Jodie’s corners were a feature of the game today. They were all very well taken and caused  quite a bit of panic in the home defence.

Everyone had a good game today but special thanks must go to Leah, Alex and Lucy who volunteered to go in goal in the absence of Danielle.
