Brilliant.
That’s the only way to describe the Ravers performance today.
A goal from Macey just thirteen seconds after the first whistle shocked the visitors and the Ravers went on to produce the best first half performance I’ve seen from them for a long time.
The Broughton girls controlled the game completely. They won every loose ball in midfield and when they had the ball, they used it well.
In the middle of the pitch, Macey and Chloe were a constant threat to the Normanby goal and when they couldn’t get through, they passed the ball out wide to Misha, Leah or Jodie (or back to Lauren and Alex) and they started again.
In defence, Lauren and Alex were solid. On the rare occasions when the visitors came close to our box, they took the ball from them without difficulty and launched yet another attack.
In goal, Louise didn’t touch the ball at all for twenty minutes and only touched the ball once or twice in the whole game.
In front of goal, Chloe terrorised the visitors. She completed a fine hat-trick before half time and the Ravers went into the break 4-0 up.
After just three minutes of the second half Macey made it 5-0 before Chloe smashed in her fourth – and the Ravers sixth – 14 minutes later.
The final score-line was a fair reflection of the way the Ravers dominated this game. But it could have much higher.
The girls made dozens of goal-scoring chances and often passed the ball around the Normanby players as though they were standing still. There was even some one-touch passing!
Credit to the Normanby players, they never stopped trying but today the Ravers were on top form.
Great stuff :)
