SWINDON Spitfires Reserves continued their impressive season with a 4-1 home win over Thatcham Town.
The hosts had all the early play but could not capitalise, Naomi Bell and Zofie Stepien blasting over when well-placed.
Thatcham then had a chance snuffed out by a block from Jas Allott, before Spitfires took the lead in the 24th minute.
Lyndsey Ball latched onto a lovely pass over the top from Stepien and she rounded the goalkeeper to slot home.
Spitfires’ second came two minutes before the break, Jess Dent setting up Stepien who delivered an inch-perfect cross for Ball to head home.
There was plenty of pressure from Spitfires in the second half and in the 65th minute they increased their lead.
Kayleigh Reeves released Emma Blackwell down the right and her cross-shot deceived Thatcham’s keeper and sailed into the far corner.
In the 79th minute Blackwell delivered the cross from which debutant Kelly Clements cleverly angled her header into the bottom corner.
Elaine Hall and Tash Blackwell should have extended the advantage before Thatcham grabbed a consolation with a long-range strike.
Meanwhile, Swindon Spitfires Under 11s increased their stranglehold on top spot in the Oxford Girls League after a 4-0 victory at home to Kidlington Youth.
Karolayne Byrom hit a hat-trick while Amy Connaghan also got on the scoresheet.
