Taming the Crouching Tigers: the Top Corner blog

As we reach the halfway stage of the season in the Holloway Women’s Indoor Spring league it’s clear that Crouch End Tigers are the team to beat. After 5 games Crouch End have scored a sensational 70 goals. That’s an average of 14 goals per game which is some record. The good news for the chasing pack is that Crouch do concede as they have let in 17. Crouch End Tigers are certainly the bookies favourites.

Last night Crouch End Tigers continued their amazing run with a 13-1 win over Angelic Roadworkers. Angelic have now played 6 matches and taken 4 points after a 3-1 win over Springfield FC and 3-3 draw against the The Warriors. It should be noted that even though they have only 4 points from a possible 18 many of their matches have been very close indeed.

In second are Alexandra Palace who have 13 points from 6 games and are Crouch Ends closest rivals. Last night they came up against Cath’s team who were 3 points behind them so the match was a massive game for both teams who are chasing the title or the runners-up spot. The referee described this game as the match of the season so far. Alexandra Palace took a 5-2 lead and looked to be cruising towards those 3 important points but Cath’s Team had their own ideas and realising the top two would start to have quite a cushion over them they stepped up their game up and started a fantastic come back…
