young Hammers collect the silverwear

West Ham Ladies under 10 squad today entered the Trinity FC tournament and came away Winners of the under 11 group, it was always going to be a hard slog for the young team as one of the opponents for the day where Writtle Minors under 11s who last season were unbeaten in the league but as with the Tottenham tournament a week before the young West Ham side entered each game with no fear of the opponents previous achievements.
With only three teams taking part it was decided that the teams would play each other three times 7 minutes each way on a league basis, up first for the hammers was Trinity under 11s
The girls started fast and it wasn’t long before Beau Parker smashed home the first goal of the game this was soon followed with goals from Jasmine Reilly and two from Mia Seeley.
Up next Writtle Minors under 11s
This was a very close game with both sides going close but the young Hammers came through with an excellent goal coming from Amber wallows that seemed to finish off Writtles attacks and gave the young hammers the confidence to push on and dominate the remainder of the game wining it 1-0.
Trinity up next, this time around it was the turn of Carson Barry to score a well-deserved goal and to finish the game up came Mia Seeley to smash home her third of the day giving the young Hammers a 2-0 win.
Back to Writtle Minors again another hard fought game but this time Writtle scored the one and only goal of the game that gave them a 1-0 victory.
Our last game against Trinity saw west Ham win with a great goal from Beau Parker in a game that saw chances from Maddie & Tessa O”Conners go begging, post being hit and near misses galore, but there was some excellent displays from Megan Magee, Chiara Scholze and Katie Lee, in particular and some outstanding saves from our ever improving young keeper Tia Kelk.
With the last game against Writtle up next this was going to be a tough game for the girls with both sides level on points it was down to the last game as to who would win the tournament with Writtle looking confident before kick off the young Hammers showed them no respect from the first whistle with a storming performance that quickly took the wind out of Writtles sails, the young Hammers pushed writtle to the limit with fast closing down and some great attacking football and with this there first goal from Kelly Wealthall , from this moment on the West Ham girls took control and pushed on to get a second goal this time from Maddie O”Conner on what was there best performance of the day and to date there best performance of pre season the outlook for this coming season couldn’t look better, a very happy manager Dave Maslen said ” this group of girls never fail to impress me the team spirit they showed during the tournament was outstanding “
